Ok, where should I start from??
I have alot to blog.. Kekex~
Let's start from the time I went to Genting..

Spent 3 days on Genting..
And I was either in the hotel or in casino,
all thanks to my hubby..
He neither wants to accompany me to ahop
nor to the outdoor themepark to play..
Can you imagine how boring that 3 day is???

We reached Singapore around 9.30 on 20/04.
Before I leave genting, I did some last minute shopping
and bought some toys and stuff for my kids.

Guess what??
The toys all broke within an hour in my kiddos hands...
Great!
They can all be 'popeye'.
*roll-eye*

Life as normal after I returned from Genting.

Last Friday, I attended Orion's birthday
party @ Aloha Changi.
And I did a very good deed...
I fed the mosquitos.

Just standing there,
I was the food for more than 10 mosquitos in merely 10 mins.
Before I left the chalet for good,
I have at least 30 bite marks all over my body,
mostly on my legs...
And those marks stays there till today...
It's god-damn itchy!!!

I will never wanna go there again if I have the choice..
It's really very run down.
It's so different from Aloha Loyang.

But I like the environment there...
Standing on the 2nd floor,
you can see the sea.
The boat, ships, aeroplane..
Nice view! ! !

The recent swine flu have been causing some emotional upheaval
in our people though Singapore is still free from such disease (thank god).

The forum I frequent have been discussing this topic,
and from there, I understand that N95 mask have been in great demand
after the swine flu news was reported.
The media are having reports on the comparison between
SARS & Swine Flu.

I'm quite a 'fated' person.
I believe some things are fated.
If your time is up, it's up..
You can't fight your fate..

There are things in life you can change,
but we have to understand that there are things in life,
no matter how hard we try,
we can never, never change...

Remain a clear conscience,
Even ghost can't do anything to you..

I am back from Genting for about a week but I have not
uploaded any pics (from the trip) to my blog.

I can now understand the meaning of 'no time'.
I really have no time for things nowadays.

My daily routine goes:

7am - Wake up
8.30am - Work
5.30pm - Off Work
6.30pm - reach home/dinner
8pm - Tutor the kids
10pm - Do some revision
11pm-12am - Sleep!

So in a schedule like this,
where do I find time to do other things??

Weekends.
Ya.. I thought so too...
But with 3 daredevils around,
I dun even have the time to sit down (that's a little exaggerate~>)

Orion's birthday tml.
And he will be celebrating it at Aloha Changi.
So I will be there tonight with the kids.
To enjoy the weekend..

I was thinking of bringing my textbook over for some revision,
but I reckon that I might get a hell of a scholding from my sis..
So, I better leave those books at home..
And dutifully enjoy the stay there...

Life is so boring!!!!

Life is always full of unfair treatments..
I have to be prepared I will lose everything anytime..

What will happen to me if I lose everything?

I think I will face it bravely and build everything up again..

Life is full of ups and downs..
I can't expect life to be a bed of rose all the time.
All I hope is to live life to the fullest.
Give my best and see what I can get..

I can survive if I have the will to.
And I have...

Just in time for tml's Genting's trip..
It's Sony Cybershot T900.
And it's red.
One of my facourite colour..
One of the latest model in the market..
Though it's not one of the best camera ever exist,
but it's definitely one that is good enough for me..

Will be leaving in another 8hrs.

Baby Rhys is down with fever,
but he's still as active, if not more..

Will have to end here as I need
to do a last check on the things I bring,
fill the white card, and then have some sleep..

So, see ya folks~

I've been so lazy reecently..
I have been playing a fool and have not done any self study for about a week.

I'll be going to Genting this weekend,
so will miss one make up lesson...
But I have let my lecturer know that I will be joining her day class for the make up lesson.
Hopefully I will not lag behind others because of the Genting trip.

I feel like a pest sometimes.
Especially these two months after we have moved to the new office.

You know, I will have to go around collecting those 'contribution'
when someone's relative passed away.
And it seems like lots of my colleagues' relative passes away recently..
In just less than 2 months, there are already 5 funerals..
Not to count those weddings and other stuffs.
And today, someone from our sister company have passed away.
And our CEO want us to contribute.
So I have to be apest again today and go around asking ppl for money..
Can you imagine how awful that is?!

Haiz~

Title: Interview With The Vampire
Author: Anne Rice
Rating: ¤

This is the story of the Louis, as told in his own words, of his journey through mortal and immortal life. Louis recounts how he became a vampire at the hands of the radiant and sinister Lestat and how he became indoctrinated, unwillingly, into the vampire way of life. His story ebbs and flows through the streets of New Orleans, defining crucial moments such as his discovery of the exquisite lost young child Claudia, wanting not to hurt but to comfort her with the last breaths of humanity he has inside. Yet, he makes Claudia a vampire, trapping her womanly passion, will, and intelligence inside the body of a small child. Louis and Claudia form a seemingly unbreakable alliance and even "settle down" for a while in the opulent French Quarter. Louis remembers Claudia's struggle to understand herself and the hatred they both have for Lestat that sends them halfway across the world to seek others of their kind. Louis and Claudia are desperate to find somewhere they belong, to find others who understand, and someone who knows what and why they are.

Comment:
Maybe it's The Twilight Saga's fault,
this story simply doesn't appeal to me.
It's like slow and boring..
I stopped halfway through the story..
Think I'll go for the movie instead..

Title: Tuesday With Morrie
Author: Mitch Albom
Rating: ¤¤¤¤

Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it.

For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago.

Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger?

Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live.

Comments:
I learn a great deal in this book.
Mitch never disappoint his reader.
I recommend this book to people who are 'lost'.
Who wants to find the meaning of life~
This would be a great book to start with.

Title: Witch Child
Author Celia Rees
Ratings:
¤¤¤

Matthew Hopkins, self-appointed Witch Finder General, was the model for Obediah Wilson. Hopkins operated in the Essex/East Anglia area between 1645-47 and during this period up to 200 women were hanged by him and his associates. Hopkins was paid 20 shillings for ridding a town of witches. Not an inconsiderable sum of money in those days. His career stopped abruptly in 1647, when he himself was ‘discovered as a sorcerer’ – and hanged.

Where could Mary go if she was orphaned by persecutions such as those inflicted by Matthew Hopkins? Who could she turn to? She would need a protector. A noble woman, perhaps, rich and powerful, but doomed by her husband’s deeds and actions. I took as my model Lucy Hutchinson, wife of Colonel John Hutchinson who was a Parlimentarian and commander in the New Model Army. He was also one of the signatories of Charles I's death warrant. Lucy Hutchinson was brave, strong, and resourceful, ‘above the pitch of ordinary women’. She accompanied her husband on his campaigns, withstood sieges with him, and ultimately saved him from execution. But Witch Child is a work of fiction and as such deals with what could have happened, not what did. I used Lucy Hutchinson as a template only. There is, of course, absolutely no evidence that she had an illegitimate daughter, or that she practised the Craft.
- http://www.witchchild.com/witchhunts.html

My Comment:
Nice story.
But it left me wondering if this is a real life account or a fictitious story.
It has got no ending. No one knew what happened to Mary.
She was accused of being the root of all troubles
and was almost captured and dealt with.
She ran off and the story just ended there.
No one knew if she was caught.
No one knew what happen to her...

I have the best birthday of my life this year!!!

I have no celebrations,
no friends around me partying the night away
like many other pevious years.
No fanciful birthday pressies,
but still, I have the best birthday I ever had~

From morning till night,
I got endless sms and greetings from facebook
wishing me happy birthday.

I have my sons around me singing birthday song for me.
Rhys took his first independant step today.
Which makes me really happy!

I received a call from my beloved bro and her gf
singing me 'Happy birthday' the moment I pick up my phone.
And a call from my sis sending me well wishes~

And my beloved hubby with me for supper at the prata hse near our place.

I have no fanciful birthday pressie , no celebration, no hunks giving me
birthday kiss while I drink my favourite 'Lamborghini' at some most happening clubs in town.
I have none of these.
But still,
I have the best birthday I ever have in my life.
All thanks to my friends & loved ones all around me!!!!!

You guys are great!

Saw this video on stomp and it really disgust me.

http://multimedia.asiaone.com/Multimedia/Vodcast/Multimedia/Story/A1Multimedia20090402-6319.html

The little girl is really pitiful..
That woman must be mad!
Who in their right mind would treat a little girl like that?
My heart goes out to that little girl..

A few Qs ran through my mind when I was watching this clip.

  1. Who took this video?
  2. Does the parents know what is happening to their children?
  3. Did the girl have any major injuries that might crippled her for the rest of her life?
  4. What happen to the maid now?
It's not that I'm afraid something bad would happen to the maid.
On the contrary, I hope she DIE!
(Ok, I know it's a sin to hope for people to die, but I can't help cursing her!)

I hope justice would be done which, apparently, still haven't yet.

I would make sure she wish she wasn't born before I was finished with her..
If that was what she did to my children. (*Touch wood*)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have been doing some revision for my studies.
Paper II exam will be in end of June.
I will have to start keeping a lookout on the registration date &
the SEP funding application date for my next 2 papers in May..
Great!
That would burn another big hole in my pocket again!
Hopefully I can pass all exams smoothly...
I want no retest!
I can't afford to have retests!!
Would have to decide if I wanna take both paper III & IV tgt
or seperately before I apply for the funding which is way before
the course registration date...
Title: The Last Concubine
Author: Lesley Downer
My rating: ¤¤¤
How do you fall in love when your society has no word for it? The Last Concubine is an epic love story closely based on historical events, chronicling 19th century Japans extraordinary change from a medieval to a modern country.This is the story of a shogun, a princess and the three thousand women of the womens palace - all of whom really existed - and of the civil war that brought their way of life to an end ...
Japan, 1865: the women's palace in the great city of Edo. A sprawling complex, bristling with intrigue and erotic rivalries, the palace is home to three thousand women and only one man - the young shogun. Sachi, a beautiful fifiteen-year-old girl, is chosen as his concubine.
But Japan is changing. Black Ships have arrived from the West, bringing foreigners eager to add Japan to their colonial empires. As civil war erupts, Sachi flees for her life. Rescued by a rebel warrior, she finds unknown feelings stirring within her; but this is a world in which private passions have no place and there is not even a word for 'love'. Before she dare dream of a life with him, Sachi must unravel the mystery of her own origins - a mystery that encompasses a wrong so terrible that it threatens to destroy her ....
From the timeless beauty of the Women's Palace in Edo to bloody battles fought outside its walls,The Last Concubine is an epic evocation of a country in revolution, and of a young woman's quest to find out who she really is.
Comments: This book is a little slow... It describe almost everything in details. Good for those who really wants to know about ancient Japanese culture. I thought of giving up reading this book when I was half way through. Reason being it's a little boring after the part they run away from the Women's Palace. Nevertheless, it's a page turner.
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.
